Building
We call Nova Scotia home.
As the people who have dedicated our careers to service in housing and homelessness, we all have something to contribute, and we all have something to learn.
Everyone is doing their best with the resources they have, yet coordination can bring us to that next level of service and care. With the recent success of OrgCode Homelessness Response Training in-person training events, sponsored by the Province of Nova Scotia, Service Providers are courageously defining what it means to support individuals and families who experience houselessness toward finding and sustaining affordable housing.
Services related to assessment, coaching, and review are supplementary to Reaching Home funding. Please refer to the capacity building calendar for information about upcoming events and registration details.
Case/Care Review
A key aspect of service is the case (or care) review. Whether a staffing complement consists of Navigators, Housing Support Workers, or Intensive Case Managers, Supervisors can offer safe and responsible support through regular inquiry and coaching. Regular, efficient one-on-one case review allows supervisors to be aware of individuals and families goal plans, risk, frequency of contact, and next steps. Kay is available to consult on case review design that is adapted for the folks you have the privilege of supporting.
Community Training Needs Assessment
With an incredible growth of Service Providers across Nova Scotia, it’s become increasingly important to organize efforts to meet the collective training needs of the sector. Ideas should snowball. Kay is listening to the requests of frontline workers and can help connect teams to in-person and online training opportunities.
